Les Fleurs du Mal, Part I

THONK TANK opened with Les Fleurs du Mal, a group exhibition of new work by Lucciana Bolivar, Jana Coolen, Mara Harbon, Jobbe Hermans, Alexandra Pușcaș, Ignaz Van Der Stighelen, Frans van Hoek and Ferdinand Waas. Presented during Antwerp Art Weekend’s OFF Program, the exhibition brought painting, sculpture, installation, print and performance into a former parking garage in Antwerp. Borrowing its title from Baudelaire, it approached beauty as something fragile, subjective and morally ambiguous. Curated by Jana Coolen and Mara Harbon.
